Pork at Anderton’s Ribble Valley Butchers

Pork was said to be at its best during the months with an ‘R’ (meaning colder periods)Today pork producers have significantly changed production methods to produce much leaner meat and adopt more traditional farming methods as better breeding and stress free pigs are known to produce meat of a better eating quality. This is why all Anderton’s Pork is farm assured. Traditional cuts, racks of pork, pork chops, tenderloins minced and diced pork, steaks and various marinated steaks are all available and prepared by our team of highly skilled Ribble Valley Butchers to your specification. Anderton’s Ribble Valley Butchers provides full traceability and is BRC accredited.

Pork is a nutrient dense food, meaning it has a high level of nutrients in proportion to its calorie content. It contains a high level of some essential B vitamins and is rich in other nutrients, such as zinc, potassium, iron and magnesium, which are important to our daily diet. Some cuts of pork are as low or lower in fat than chicken and over half of the fat is unsaturated fat, the type that helps lower cholesterol.

A 3-ounce portion of pork provides approximately half of our daily requirement for protein.
